Eddie Griffin VIEW PROFILE

James Edward "Eddie" Griffin, age 78, Mt. Sterling, KY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, KY, with his family at his bedside. He was born in Paducah, KY, on June 29, 1944, and his parents were Luther Edward Griffin and Clara Norsworthy Griffin.

Eddie was a 1962 graduate of Paducah Tilghman High School and attended the University of Kentucky. He then lived in Lexington for 51 years, moving to Mt. Sterling nine years ago. He worked at Clay Ingels in Lexington for 44 years, starting in sales and working his way up to Vice-President before retiring in 2012.

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, and is survived by his wife, Terry Arundel Griffin, Mt. Sterling; son Joey Griffin, Ashland; three daughters, Jody Griffin, Lexington, Shanean Estes (Anthony), Richmond, and Shannon Kazee, Lexington; grandchildren, Michael Patrick Griffin, Wyatt Norris, Leah Griffin, Matthew Griffin, Clara Jane Griffin, Alexis Griffin, Autumn Lamb, Shelby Gross, and Shania Robinson; sister, Judy Griffin Fryrear (Ben), Jacksonville, FL; nephew and niece John Massey (Susie) and Joanna Massey Fenske (Robert), Savannah, GA; great niece and nephew, Caroline and Clay Massey, Savannah, GA; aunt, Barbara Griffin, Red Oak, NC; and many cousins in North Carolina and Paducah, KY.

Eddie had a very friendly and engaging personality and loved and was loved by many people and will be greatly missed. He enjoyed golf, boating, and spending winters in Florida in his motor home in his retirement years. He greatly loved his family and also enjoyed visiting his extended families in Red Oak, North Carolina, and Paducah, KY.

A private memorial service for the family is planned. Milward Funeral Directors, Lexington, is in charge of arrangements. Contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be directed to the American Lung Association.
